-LINE-X Franchise Development Corporation (LFDC) announced today that the U.S. Department of Defense selected its proprietary coating to protect the Pentagon in the event of another terrorist attack. According to Pentagon sources, LINE-X began applying the coating on the Pentagon at 12:30pm November 26, 2002.
Could the LINE-X product save lives at the Pentagon in the event of another terrorist bombing? “Absolutely” said Scott Jewett, General Manager of LFDC. “Recent Air Force tests on the coating confirm that the XS350 polymer actually prevents concrete from breaking apart in an explosion.”
“Terrorist attack is one of the biggest threats of the new millennium, greatly surpassing the likelihood of world war,” continued Jewett. According to the Air Force study, “one of the greatest threats from terrorist bombing comes from fragmentation – pieces and fragments… flying at high speed… resulting in injury and death. The LINE-X coating significantly reduces fragmentation saving lives in the event of a bomb blast."
LINE-X is currently being considered for numerous government, public and military buildings. LINE-X will be testing a number of uses and applications of the XS350 product including the protection of buildings and the significant reductions of fragmentation during an earthquake, tornado or hurricane.
