LINE-X PAXCON CONTINUES TO PROTECT AMERICA
Washington, D.C., .
(April 29, 2004)
-In 1999, the Air Force Research Laboratory began testing LINE-X for use in blast mitigation applications. Out of all products tested, LINE-X was the only one that passed every test and was ultimately selected for deployment. Application of LINE-X for the purpose of blast mitigation soon followed at the U.S. Pentagon. By February, 2003, phase one of the Pentagon project was completed. Now, in 2004, phase two is underway with additional applications likely as the retrofit project progresses.
Additional testing is underway by the Office of Naval Research to evaluate the blast mitigation properties of LINE-X polymers on military vehicles as a sprayed-on polymer armor, protecting our troops in combat. Initial results have been very promising.
Recently, an article appeared in "ARMY TIMES" detailing the recent research and testing of the "polymer armor".
