CATCH THE LINE-X SPRAY-ON BEDLINERS 200 – Michigan International Speedway – Saturday, July 31st
Brooklyn, MI.
(July 28, 2004)
- "GENTLEMEN,
START YOUR ENGINES…"
J.B.
Burtin, President of LINE-X Franchise Development Corporation, will have the
honor of uttering those words at the up-coming "LINE-X SPRAY-ON BEDLINERS
200" NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Race at Michigan International Speedway,
at Auburn Hills, MI, right outside the Automotive Capital of the World, Detroit.
The event will be broadcast LIVE on SPEED CHANNEL, July 31st at 1p.m. EDT.
Featured in the race, the #24 LINE-X Toyota
Tundra, piloted by last year’s Series champion, Travis Kvapil. Currently in 8th
place in the point standings, Kvapil will look to better his position in this
key race sponsored by LINE-X Spray-on Bedliners!
Kvapil on Michigan
International Speedway –“Michigan is a fun, two-mile race track.
It’s definitely fast and is a favorite for most of the drivers on the circuit.
Since it’s a larger venue, the drivers really feel the effect of the draft.
Michigan always creates exciting racing action. It’s a place where you can get
right to the front of the pack quickly if you have a good race truck. And it’s
a place that gives a driver options. The speedway is wide and high-banked and
because of that, you can circle the track in several different places either
down near the yellow line or higher up at the top of the track.”
When asked: “How
much pressure does Line-X sponsoring the race put on you to perform?”
Kvapil replied: “It would be a thrill if
our team could get a win this week for all of the LINE-X employees that will be
at MIS and give them all something to cheer about. The LINE-X team would
definitely like to give Toyota their first victory as well, and Michigan would
be a great place to do that. Knowing that my sponsor is also sponsoring the race
does add a little bit of pressure and make me want the win all the more. But I
put pressure on myself to win every week and that focus and determination never
changes from week to week. I equate the feeling to going back home and racing in
front of all of my friends and family in Milwaukee. And this weekend, I’ll
deal with that same type of pressure in having my extended family - our family
of sponsors - at the track watching us and cheering for our team to reach
victory lane.”
Also featured in the race, the #42 Toyota Tundra,
piloted by the Series’ inaugural champion, Mike Skinner.
LINE-X is the associate sponsor on Skinner’s #42 truck.
Skinner, currently 12th in points, will also be looking to
improve his standing at the Michigan venue.
Be
sure and check local listings for air-times.
